When people who don't know the tarot see the Death card, they get frightened, taking the card too literally, when really it means changes, transitions, and transformation.
As advice, this card is nudging you to take on some change in your own life. So this is a good time to ask yourself, "What do I want to make progress on? What do I want to transform? And how do I go about making these changes?"
More importantly, what is best course of action to get long-lasting results? Some believe it's a combination of strategy and emotion, or rather the why and the how. But more importantly, the decision to make changes should come from a state of passion, because when you make a decision in a state of passion, that is where you find your momentum to commit and then resolve to continue.
So how do we do that? We take the time to think upon what it is that's most important to us, decide we want to take action and go from there.
If there are new things you've always wanted to do with your life, but don't really know what steps to take to begin, reach out to someone who has done it, or is doing it, and ask for their advice, then keep on with your forward momentum.
When you start taking tangible steps to make your goals a reality, this keeps you passionate in your commitment to keep going.
Whatever it is, finding a new job, moving, going back to school, learning a new language, creating a healthy lifestyle, get excited about it.
Becoming new takes initiative, and takes time and reinforcement, but the more you put in the effort, the more one day you will look up and realize you are in the next stage of who you are.
Also remember, slow progress is still progress. Just start taking the steps to moving forward.
