Is there something you have been wanting to change in your life and the opportunity is now knocking at your door?
The Six of Swords is about being on the verge of, or about to embark upon, the first steps of changes in your life.
If the changes you wish to make do not sit easily with you, then adjustments may be needed along the way, in an effort to facilitate your end goal.
Sometimes when we make changes there is something left behind. This is usually the case with the Six of Swords.
You may want to take on a new job but need to move to a new city to do so. Travel is usually indicated with this card alongside a question mark on who you will take with you... if anyone at all. There's a sense that what you are about to embark on needs to be done on your own and the rewards are great.
Think of it as putting a dream in motion and any opposition you have had to this dream must be left behind for it to come to completion. There are great rewards with the Six of Swords yet there is also a little bit of sorrow for what is left behind. As Swords rule the intellect then the sorrow is intellectually based which may or may not be harder to deal with than if it were emotionally based.
Changes in our lives can come at a price. The Six of Swords shows that the price you pay will not be too costly but it will nevertheless cost you something in the end. Keep this in mind as you move along your journey - one small step leads to bigger and brighter things for you in the future.
